I want to know if you belong or feel abandoned- if you know despair or can see it in others. I want to know if you are prepared to live in the world with it’s harsh need to change you. I want to know if you are willing to live day by day with the consequences of love, bitterness, and an unwanted passion of defeat. Do you know if you are in your own skin in this world?
There Is not a single person in this world who is prepared for life. Maybe God is the only acceptable person, but on the other hand nobody is ready to take on life. By observation, the people around me have fought through life just to figure out who they are as an individual-physically and mentally.
One thing that I have realized is that a variety of teenagers care about their image. Meaning their body types, body count, personality, ethnicity, lifestyle, etc. The main topic being discussed in todays post are our physical and mental appearance.
Being defined as a certain person plays a big roll in our generation today. More frequently so, It is important to know the difference and work on the shape you can change, while adjusting your wardrobe and attitude to the shape you cannot change. Understanding your body is the first step to reaching your best personal shape and a step closer to loving who you are.
Personally, I for one have had difficulty understanding and accepting my body figure. I was always the type of girl who was afraid to stand out of crowds. I was afraid to be judged for who i was or what i looked like. I was afraid to be myself in front of others. I wish i was able to say that I’m not that girl anymore, but i still am. I will admit to say that I have grown out of my shell, but that girl still holds a piece inside me. I am just starting to accept the fact that I am beautiful and that i am comfortable with the body that i live in. At 17 years old, I have suffered through mental illness as you all may know by now, but being comfortable in my own skin has taken a big toll on me while dealing with my mental illness.
Why are we different? Why isn’t everyone the same?
Everyone was born different-right? Don’t we all have different opinions and observations about certain situations? God didn’t make us all the same, he did that for a reason. The reason being that he wanted us to be different from one another was to prove to each other that there are a variety of different ways of looking at things. God wanted us to be separate individuals with separate identities. If we were all the same than life would be pointless. Having some kind of conflict in this world gives everyone the chance to speak up and share their own opinions and ideas.
What Is Body Positivity?
Body positivity is not just about how society views people based upon their physical size and shape. However, it also recognizes the judgments that are often made based on race, gender, sexuality, and disability. Body positivity also aims to help people understand how popular media messages contribute to the relationship that people have with their bodies, including how they feel about food, exercise, clothing, health, identity, and self-care. By better understanding the effect that such influences have, the hope is that people can develop a healthier and more realistic relationship with their bodies.
