I’m going to start this off with something that my mom once told me, “You should appreciate every little thing that you have in this moment and in this life because not everyone has things that you have.” I don’t think that people realize how much they are grateful for. There are people in this world who don’t have anything- literally. People should at least take in to consideration that they have things that other people wish that they had. I believe that at a young age, us teenagers, all that we think about is spending and wanting money. You can’t tell me I’m wrong because it’s true. All that we think about doing is, going out with friends to the movies or the mall or eating at a restaurant, etc. I mean who can blame us, it’s not our fault that we want to go out and live our lives, nowadays everything costs money.

Anyways, on another note what i am trying to say is that you should appreciate what you have. Everyone should be grateful whether it comes to friends or family, or even the house and community that they live in. I know that everything that is happening in your life isn’t perfect or what you have wished for, but you should acknowledge that what you have is what you have. You need to see that not everyone can have anything they want in this world. But i will tell you that what you have now, can change what you have in the future.

When you get older and get a job and have money that you have made, you have the opportunity to get the things that you want. But you should be rational with your money, you don’t want to use up all your money on small stuff that you don’t really need. For example, say you have made $150 on your last paycheck. You realize now that you have two options on what to get with the $150. Would you either spend it on a new pair of shoes or save it for future references like, a college savings account, to buy a car, or even get an apartment. What would you do? Would you take the chance of spending that money on something small or save it for something bigger.

Besides being appreciative of your family, friends, home, and money. What really matters is that you enjoy and cherish the small, little details that you have in life. The moments and memories that you don’t want to forget are the small details that matter the most. So appreciate every minute and every second of everyday. Enjoy the small things because eventually they will turn in to big successes.
